SEC Newgate EU is a Brussels-based advocacy and communications consultancy with global reach as part of the SEC Newgate Group.
We are looking for a Director of Communications who is an inspiring leader, a strategic thinker, a compelling storyteller and a digital-savvy communicator, with a passion for driving business growth.
As the head of our communications team, you will play a key role in shaping and managing communications strategies while mentoring a high-performing team.
You will work with public and private sector clients across various industries, delivering high-impact communication strategies in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide strategic advice to clients on policy communications, communication strategy, internal communications, and advocacy initiatives.
- Develop and implement integrated communication and advocacy programmes for clients, ensuring measurable impact.
- Drive business development by strengthening relationships with existing clients and securing new business opportunities.
- Craft high-quality materials, including presentations, newsletters, and other communications materials.
- Enhance and oversee social and digital media strategies, including performance reviews and analytics.
- Mentor and support a diverse team of communication professionals, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
- Elevate the team’s communications capabilities through knowledge sharing and training.
- Develop and implement marketing initiatives to promote SEC Newgate EU’s brand and services.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- 10 years of relevant experience in communications, preferably within a consultancy setting.
- Proven expertise in people management, with a track record of leading, inspiring, mentoring and developing teams of consultants.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement innovative communication strategies tailored to different industries and audiences.
- Strong expertise in social media strategy, content creation, digital engagement, and analytics.
- Ability to simplify complex topics and make them accessible to diverse audiences.
- A good understanding of the European policy landscape and regulatory environment.
- Commercial mindset with a client-centric approach and business development acumen.
- Established network of contacts in Brussels with strong relationship-building skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to craft compelling narratives and presentations.
- Fluent English, with proficiency in at least one other EU language.
